Registration for piano lessons occurs at any time after an interview is held between parents, student, and teacher. The interview is a chance to get to know each other, as well as to discuss policies, expectations, and tuition. In addition, the student is evaluated for readiness for piano lessons.
Once the parents have agreed to a mutual date and time for lessons for their child, there are policy forms to fill out and dates to mark for the upcoming academic year. All are detailed in the Student Enrollment Form, the Available Times Form, and the Tuition and Policies Form.
Lessons begin September 11, 2017 and end June 30, 2018. Annual tuition for a half-hour lesson is $1400, and for a 45-minute lesson is $2100. This includes a total of 35 lessons. Intermediate and advanced students must take a minimum of a 45-minute lesson. Half-hour lessons are for beginners only, usually spanning the first few years.
There is also an annual registration fee of $50 due by July 8, 2017.
Tuition is paid annually or in 4 equal payments. Four equal payments of $350 or $525 should be paid on August 1, November 1, February 1, and May 1. An annual payment may be made on August 1. Payments over 5 days late must include an additional $25 over the tuition.
There will be no make-ups for missed lessons. If I must cancel a regularly scheduled lesson, I will give a make-up sometime during the academic year or early summer months. Although I won’t necessarily take the time, I am allowed 1 sick or personal day every 6 weeks of lessons. There are no lessons if Henrico Public Schools are closed for inclement weather, and no make-ups for these.
